DuBois school board approves budget, one-year deal with teachers by Glenn Schuckers

The DuBois Area School Board met in regular session on June 17 and adopted its no-tax increase budget for the coming year.

The budget totals $67,545,039. The taxes related to that budget will not change in the coming year, with millage in Clearfield County remaining at 95.34 and in Jefferson County at 29.70.

The board also approved a one-year contract agreement between the district and the DuBois Area Education Association, which represents the district’s teachers in the district. The pact runs from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022. The teachers approved the deal at a meeting on June 15.

Before going into its regular agenda, the board listened to a presentation by Linda Rankus, an English teacher at the high school, who talked about the vocabulary.com team at that school. The team won first place in the Pennsylvania competition completed earlier this year. It also placed fourth in the nation.
