Makeshift memorial to Maddox Hyde in borough park

Following a post on the Facebook page Friends of Maddox, mourners came together today to create an makeshift memorial to the Reynoldsville teen to who died yesterday after a long battle with cancer.

Using battery operated tea lights and strings of Christmas lights, the tables inside the pavilion were illuminated. A sign on one bench read, “In memory of Maddox Hyde.”

The event was scheduled for 5 p.m., but even an hour later cars could be seen pulling up to the park as people placed more lights on the table.
