Recycling tops agenda at Winslow Township meeting
The focus at the Winslow Township Supervisors meeting on April 8 was recycling.
Donna Cooper of the Jefferson County Solid Waste Authority to bring the supervisors up to date on what was happening with the county solid waste disposal.
Cooper said that the recycling bins in Reynoldsville, which are also shared with Winslow Township, was a busy location last year.
“The Reynoldsville site is the 6th most popular site [in the county] and 28 tons went through there last year,” she said.
She also thanked the township for its support.
“It’s vital for us to get the support of the municipalities to keep this program going,” she told the supervisors.
An updated recycling guide was given to the supervisors. Cooper also provided a flyer for the upcoming electronics recycling and household hazardous waste collection scheduled for May 4 at the Goodwill location in Falls Creek (see the link to the document below).
In other action, the supervisors voted to advertise for bids for stone. The bids will be opened at the May meeting.
