Reynoldsville Council opens three garbage disposal bids
Reynoldsville Borough Council opened three bids for garbage service at its regular meeting on October 19.
The bids came in from Hugill Sanitation of Mahaffey, ARC Disposal of Reynoldsville, and Waste Management of Brockway.
Based on the information read to council covering different categories, ARC Disposal was the lowest bidder for the three-year deal. Ed Yahner, at Waste management, who was at the meeting, asked about additional details on the other two bids.
It was Yahner at the September 18 council meeting who complained to council about the lack of bidding when it awarded the disposal bid to ARC Disposal. At its Oct. 6 meeting, Council rescinded that motion and opted to put the garbage disposal service out for bids.
Mike Popson spoke for other council members when he said he wanted to look things over before taking any action.
“I think we should review what the bids are…and next meeting meeting make the decision then,” he said
Council then tabled any action until its November 7 meeting.
