Reynoldsville native promoted with ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park. An article by Peggy Zortman.

July 1, 2022 Reynoldsville native Corporal Alexis Trude, daughter of Ted Gilbert, Jr. received her sergeant stripes in a well-attended promotion ceremony at Reynoldsville’s Veterans Memorial Park.

SSG Geneross Wagner of Carlisle presented the certificate of advancement, with SSG Kassandra Heads from Dover and SGT James Taylor from Pittsburgh acting as witnesses to the event. All spoke a few words in support of Alexis.

Sergeant Trude joined the Army on July 28, 2015 and says she has never regretted her choice. She loves the travel and the opportunities to see and do so many things. During a deployment to Germany, she volunteered to help recover the human remains of a pilot and co-pilot killed in World War II. She is currently stationed in Pittsburgh.

Alexis had a choice of where the ceremony would take place and chose her hometown. Our still developing Veteran’s Memorial Park seemed to her to be the perfect choice.
