After losing its bid for grant monies, the Reynoldsville Pool is looking to the community for help.
Pool manager Jill Heffner informed the Reynoldsville Borough Council on November 6 that the loss of the grant was “devastating.”
The Reynoldsville Recreation Committee, the pools parent organization, was seeking a $170,000 grant to help with badly needed repairs but learned in several weeks ago that the grant was denied.
While pool officials are looking into other grant opportunities, they are calling on area clubs and organizations to help with fundraising.
Heffner also stated a GoFundMe account has been started in the hopes of raising $100,000. She also asked council to consider raising the borough’s pool allotment.
“The pool is worth fighting for,” she said.
