DuBois School Board meets by Glenn Schuckers
The DuBois Area School Board held a meeting on July 14 at the Administrative Center. Six Board members were present and as president Larry Salone was absent, member Sam Armagost was elected as temporary chairman for the meeting.
The Board approved a motion for BCS Construction, Inc. to install self-leveling underlayment for the Senior High School flooring project at a cost of $45,786.00. The board also approved a motion for Moore Propane to supply LPG at a cost of $.47per gallon.
In resignations and hirings, the board accepted the resignations of Holly Boyles as music instructor at Wasson Elementary School and Anne Young Director of Curriculum and Assessment, and hired Allyssa Hall as a library instructor and Megan Hanzley as an instructor in the gifted program. Dylan Fye was hired as a part-time custodian, Rose Nelen as a paraprofessional, and Amy Smith as a cafeteria aide.
The board also approved a motion for Penn State to use the Juniata Elementary School gym for women’s volleyball, and for the DuBois Youth Football to use the NexTier Field at Mansell Stadium for practice and games.
