Winslow Township Supervisors investigating Soldier Water System leak

The Winslow Township Supervisors met in regular session on April 11 and found out there may be a leak in the Soldier Water System.

While reading the bills for the month, Township Secretary Mary Greeley noted the water bill was $6,403 dollars, a significant increase over the bill for January of this year which was $2,749.

“We got to get this water bill under control,” she said.

Board President Robert Krajewski said the township has begun an investigation. He said since the sewer bill has remained static, it’s quite possible the leak is not in a home but in a feeder line. Krajewski also told the board that he’s received a preliminary drawing from the firm designing the new township addition. There’s no estimated cost for the structure as of yet.

Four bids were opened for a township stone supplier. After the opening and some discussion, the bid was awarded to Bucktail Excavators, Inc., of St. Marys.

In other action, the supervisors reviewed three proposals for a new pick up truck for the water department.
