The Reynoldsville Community Association met on April 14 and elected officers for the coming year. They include Sarah Caltagarone, president., Sam Bundy, vice president, Denise Preston, secretary, and Cathy Streigle, treasurer. Bonny Kaushik was elected as an at-large member of the executive board.

William Fontana, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the PA Downtown Center, informed the board that the RCA will receive a $12,500 Innovation Grant from the United State Department of Agriculture. The money must be used for innovative project ideas that can be funded in the future.

The board voted to create a Blight Mitigation Project for the Reynoldsville business district. It also approved a Conceptual Design Project for a downtown lot. The idea is to create designs for a structure over an empty lot to be used as a park for merchants markets, festivals, and community gatherings.

Fontana plans to visit with the board in future weeks to continue the planning process. He and Julie Fitzpatrick, Executive Director of the PA Downtown Center, recently participated in a walking tour of the borough in preparation for the meeting on April 14.
