DASD board hires principals by Glenn Schukers

Juniata Elementary School will have a new principal as the result of action by the Board at their April 20 meeting. At that meeting Dr. Mollie Anzinger was hired as the principal at the school effective July 1, 2023.  Torie Sedor was also hired as an assistant principal also effective July 1. The Board also approved hiring of Shayna Lindey and Jordan Frano as special education instructors effective for the 2023.24 school year.

Anzinger comes to DuBois from St. Marys where she was a liaison administrator in the special education department. She plans to continue to live in St. Mary but said she expects Juanita to become her “second home.”  Sedor was previously employed by the DuBois School district as a director of special education.

In other action, High School Principal Chuck Pasternak reported on an event at that school where business leaders came to the school to meet with students to introduce them to real world situations they will encounter once they leave school. He said he wanted to express his thanks to those leaders for giving their time to make the presentations to the students.

District Business Manager Jeanette Buriak announced that the May meetings will be held on May 4 and 11 to meet the deadline for approving the 2023-24 budget. The final budget will be first presented and then approved at those meetings.
