Daycare to return to Jeff Tech in the fall

There will be a daycare at Jeff Tech in August.

The company that had been running the day care there pulled out leaving those who utilized it wondering if there would be something to take its place. At the Jeff Tech Operating Committee meeting on June 24, a motion was approved that Jeff Tech enter into an agreement to provide meals/snacks to the Little Viking Childcare Center, LLC.

After the meeting, Jeff Tech Director Dr. Barry Fillman confirmed the day care would be open in August and should have close to 30 children.

In other action, Dr. Fillman announced that teachers would report to school on August 21 and the first day of classes would be August 22.

It was also noted at the meeting that five staff members had been awarded tenure, including Keith Lepionka, Jenna Shenkle, Tanya Sweka, Thomas Weaver, and Jessica Schwabenbauer. Lisa Aucker was as the practical nursing secretary.

The committee will not meet in July.
