Art students from the DuBois-Jefferson Vocational technical School (Jeff Tech) recently held an opening reception at the Winkler Art Gallery in DuBois as part of a First Friday event in the downtown.

Art instructor Ms. Angela Dragich said 56 entries are on display and some artwork is up for sale.

“We have a variety of pieces in the show,” Dragich said.

Those pieces include drawings, acrylic paintings, painted shoes, a 3-D printed Viking helmet (the Jeff Tech mascot is a Viking), and photography.

The event included food provided by food sponsors including Doolittle Station, Aegis Coffee Roasters

Some alumni of Jeff Tech came by the opening to show support. Several students from Jeff Tech who do not have artwork in the show were also among the guests.

The show will run until March 23.
