Little Vikings Childcare Center in Reynoldsville receives state grant

A local child care center is the recipient of a state grant to provide hazard pay to employees in life-sustaining industries.

The Little Viking Childcare Center LLC, located at Jeff Tech in Reynoldsville, will receive a grant totaling $7080.

The program is designed to keep front-line workers on the job during this pandemic.

In announcing the grants, which totaled $50-million statewide, Governor Tom Wolf said, It is undeniable that COVID-19 has put incredible stress on Pennsylvania’s economy, health care system and workforce, and my administration is committed to supporting our businesses and communities as we continue to navigate this global pandemic.”

Center director Christy Tost-Weaver of DuBois commented,”I am very grateful to have these funds to help my employees through the difficulties of this pandemic.” She added, “Each one of them has done their part to help our families and the children we serve stay safe and healthy throughout it all.”

The grant is administered through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
