Reynoldsville Community Association reorganizes, joins war memorial efforts
At its recent meeting, the Reynoldsville Community Association (RCA) reorganized and took a step to help in the efforts to locate a war memorial park in the downtown.
Officers or the coming year include Sarah Catalgarone, president; Sam Bundy, vice president; Denise Preston, secretary; and Donna Price, treasurer.
In other business, the board voted to accept the Reynoldsville War Memorial Committee as a subcommittee of the RCA. This will help the war memorial fund-raising efforts in that the RCA is a 501C3 non-profit organization and the war memorial committee will come under that banner.
“This is what we want to be, an umbrella organization for other committees in the borough,” said board member Denise Preston.
The war memorial committee has yet to vote on the sub-committee designation. That will take place at its regular meeting April 3.
Plans continue to be made for the May the Fourth Home Brewer’s event at the Bellamauro. Home brewers from Clearfield, Elk and Jefferson counties are expected to attend.
The Red, White and Blueberry Festival program is taking shape. There may be a band Friday night, July 12, followed by the outdoor movie sponsored by the Snyder-d’Argy Funeral Home. Saturday, July 13, has a full slate of events including children’s games, pie eating contests, a bike parade, and music on the stage in the park, including Ellen (Deible) Starsky from Nashville as the headliner. Fireworks will follow.
The next RCA meeting is slated for April 11 at the Ryan Law Offices. The public is invited to attend.
