Water shuts offs for unpaid bills in Reynoldsville coming next week
Reynoldsville water customers who haven’t paid their bill are facing a shut off next week.
According to a report released at the April 28 Water Authority meeting, the authority had a total of $71,219.55 in outstanding bills eligible for shut off as of April 7. Those account holders were notified that if they paid their bill plus 10%, the water would not be shut off. By the meeting on the April 28, $18,863.84 had been paid leaving an outstanding balance of $52,355.72.
According to the release, those who do not pay their current (corrected from original article) bill plus 10% of their past due bill (corrected) will have their water shut off. A 24-hour notice will be given on Monday, May 2. If the bill is not paid, the water will be shut off. The bill has to be paid in full before the water will be turned back on.
Those paying their bill should return the bill stub with their payment. Those needing financial help can find information on how to do that on the back of the bill.
The release states there are 20 residents that will get the notices on May 2.
