DuBois Area School Board meets in regular session by Glenn Schuckers

The DuBois Area School Board held its regular meeting on August 12 at the Administrative Center on Liberty Boulevard. Two member of the Board, Mark Gilga and Gilbert Barker, were absent.

The board approved the hiring of Megan Sheloski as a Title I instructor effective with the 2021-2022 school year. The board approved the resignation of Lauren McLaughlin as an English instructor at the DuBois Area High School. McLaughlin has taken a principal’s position with the Punxsutawney School District.

The board also approved the elementary and secondary bus routes for the coming school year.

It was also noted at the meeting that residents driving on Liberty Boulevard will see the new district sign that has been erected there noting the location of “Nextell Field at Mansell Stadium.” The sign had been approved earlier but was delayed until the local company, Sekula Signs of DuBois, renewed its paperwork with the state. Now that it has been approved the sign is up and will be giving district information to passersby soon.
