Fatal accident at Route 830 off ramp August 1

A fatal accident occurred at the Route 830/Interstate-80 off ramp yesterday afternoon.

State Police at DuBois say a car came off the Interstate at the ramp and failed to stop. It crossed into the path of a vehicle driven by Walter Kitko (no address given). Upon impact, the exiting car rolled over coming to rest on its roof.

Megan Darlene Wood of DuBois was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people in the car, Nikkol Kriner and David Sierzaga, both of DuBois, were seriously injured. Kitko suffered minor injuries.

No ages were given for those involved.

The investigation into the accident continues.
