Jefferson County COVID-19 cases up by two

The PA Department of Health (DOH) released statistics yesterday that showed the number of cases in Jefferson County increased by two, going from four to six. There were 322 negative cases. This is the first increase in a little more than a week.

Breaking it down by postal code, the Reynoldsville area (15851) still shows the “redacted 1-4” code, meaning there are less than five cases with 41 negative results.

Statewide, the number has jumped to 48,305 cases with 2,4018 deaths. The DOH data also shows there are 2,640 COVID-19 patients hospitalized across the commonwealth with 561 ventilators in use.

Despite the increase, Jefferson County is one of the counties that will be going to the yellow phase of reopening on May 8.
